Common features of different types Circular Saws

The circular saw is the most popular saw among various kinds of saws used widely. It is versatile and helpful in many operations. There are options to select circular saws of one’s needs. The features of circular saw will vary depending on the user’s needs. There are two main types of designs in circular saw. They are the sidewinder type and worm drive type. Cordless saws and trim saws are available in the market to make a perfect choice.

Worm Drive saws: These types of worm drive saw can cut plywood and stud almost all day without any problems. It is one of the favorite tools used by professional carpenters. The motor in this type of saw is placed parallel to the cutting blade to provide maximum torque to cut anything for long time. All the heavy duty saws in this design are heavy weighted as well. Hyphoid gear saws are light weighted but are not very popular.

Sidewinder Saws: This kind of saw is mainly used in construction sites and is one of the most preferred tools among construction workers. The motor of a sidewinder saw is placed perpendicular to the blade for the easy movement. But the power generated in this design is less, even though it is light weighted. Helical gearing sidewinder is good for providing additional torque.

Cordless Saws: The cordless facility makes the circular saw portable. But the torque will be less compared to the corded version of circular saw. Most of the cordless saws have tiny blade diameter than the corded version.

Trim saws: Trim saws use blades with lesser diameters. It is useful in the cutting of thin materials, used in the finishing works of wood and house hold items.

There are some modern features incorporated in the circular saw for better performance.

· Bavel Capasity of the saw helps you to make angled cuts easily. For efficiency and accuracy you have to go for a circular saw with lesser tool regulation.

· Depth control is very important for effective performance of the circular saw. The products with better visibility are always good and easily accessible. Check the depth of cut specifications in your circular saw.

· Visibility of the line of cut is very critical in the operation. For right handed people the blade should be placed right to the motor. There is a notch to enhance visibility on the upper blade.

· Electric Brake helps to stop the blade immediately after releasing the trigger. It gives an extra safety and gives you time for making the next cut properly.

· Flexible blade changing system in many saws saves lots of your time, in changing blades

· Rip fence offers better control and safety, accuracy and performance.

· Heavy duty base made of metal casts and steel bases can save your saw from falls.

· Magnesium housing is for protecting the motor.

· Adjustable and Cushioned handles are some features to promote comfort for the user while handling several positions.

· Dust management in modern saws removes dust and enhances good visibility.

· Built in laser projectors helps for precision cuttings.

· Light for work improves visibility in lesser light working situations.

· Convenient cord and Rafter hook are the added features to make the circular saw more flexible.
