Varities of autism

Autism is a really variable disease.Do you know like many things you cannot put all autistic people into one category? There are many autism types.

Some people are totally dysfunctional, some others are mentally handicapped. And in some autism types patients show mild symptoms and responds to treatment. It is a practice that autism types are broadly divided into two. This is not accepted by professionals. This is done on the basis of IQ levels.

  • Low functional autism (LFA) refers to individuals with IQ<80.
  • High functional autism (HFA) refers to individuals with IQ>80.

But it is better to define LFA and HFA autism types by how well individuals manage his day to day life and communications.These classifications of autism types are highly controversial and it is not possible to categorize all autistic people in this. It usually observed that individuals with high functioning autism are highly compromised to perform their individual requirements.

But low functioning autistic people have high intellectual powers. It is often unnoticed or recognized because of their problems in communication and writing skills. But it is easy to understand and diagnose people with high functional autism. So they can be better shaped into full fills their basic needs. A number of people diagnosed with low functioning autism are not been able to get help faster. Early intervention and treatment will help those people suffering with autism. It is important to diagnose all autistic types in childhood itself.

Asperger syndrome

Do you know asperger syndrome affects millions across the globe? Asperger syndrome is a autism spectrum disorder.

Asperger syndrome is characterized by restricted and stereotyped activities or interests and inability to form and develop social interactions.Asperger syndrome has some difference with other autistic disorders because for these patients there is no delay in developing language or speaking skills.

But these patients show motor clumsiness and improper usage of language in different context. It is distinguished by a series of symptoms. They don’t show basic communication skills. These patients show one-sided or narrow minded approach in conversation with others. They can not understand jokes, or inside meanings of common language. They will continue conversation even if the second person is not interested.

Asperger disease individuals are quite rigid and emotionless. The cause for Asperger syndrome is brain impairment and it has nothing to do with malnutrition or parental caring. Some preservatives in vaccines such as teratogens are also believed to cause symptoms.

The training of social skills will help this people to develop better social interaction skills To control anxiety and mood swings, medications will really help. Training for normal conversation will help them to a great extent in their social circles.

Training should be given to parents as well to practice inside home. Like any disorder condition, an early intervention is very important. Proper diagnosis, care and support from the family and society will help asperger syndrome patients to lead a better life.
